Research Reports

Much of Frontiers work is devoted to research on cutting edge issues that affect refugees and migrants in Lebanon.

Legality v. Legitimacy: Detention of Refugees and Asylum-Seekers in Lebanon (May 2006)   (Arabic version here)

This legal study explores the gaps between the rights of refugees to be free from arbitrary detention and Lebanese practice, in which many refugees and other migrants are detained as punishment for illegal entry.

Falling through the Cracks: Legal and practical gaps in Palestinian refugee status (December 2005)

This groundbreaking study, involving fieldwork and legal research, identifies the reasons why thousands of Palestinians in Lebanon are not recognized as refugees by the Lebanese government, the United Nations, or both. Frontiers is continuing the Falling through the Cracks project with advocacy and expanded research in other countries that host Palestinian refugees.
